چکیده

Eleven boreholes and one outcrop of the Lower Cretaceous in South Dobrogea (south-eastern Romania) were sampled for charophytes. Twenty species are described illustrated two non-marine rock units, Z?voaia Member Gherghina Formation. The contains a charophyte assemblage dominated by Feistiella bijuescensis, aff. Mesochara harrisii, Nodosoclavator bradleyi, Clavator bilateralis, grovesii var. grovesii, indicating Berriasian age. Other less abundant include sp., Latochara dobrogeica sp. nov., Globator maillardii nurrensis, Atopochara trivolvis micrandra, discordis, Hemiclavator adnatus, neimongolensis posticecaptus. occurrence G. nurrensis this suggests late Formation is triquetra jiuquanensis. Sphaerochara andersonii, trochiliscoides, biutricularis, harrisii reyi, ampullaceus latibracteatus nov. This indicates Barremian–early Aptian study sheds new light on palaeobiogeographical distribution charophytes Tethyan realm. Well-known western European such as F. S. H. posticecaptus herein first time eastern Europe. Very significantly, report Europe hitherto North American taxon C. while has previously been reported only from Middle East Africa.

Early-Miocene Gastropods from Khavich Area, South of Sirjan, (Kerman, Iran): Biostratigraphy, Paleogeography and Paleoecology

A total of 12 species of marine gastropods, among which two taxa are new, is reported for the first time from the Miocene deposits of Khavich section, south of Sirjan, Kerman. Gastropods assemblage in Khavich area indicates deposition in shallow, warm ramp-type carbonate platform. The Miocene and even Oligocene gastropod assemblages, relatively similar to Khavich section, reported from the othe...

Early Cretaceous (berriasian) Birds and Pterosaurs from the Cornet Bauxite Mine, Romania

We revisit a small but extremely significant collection of bird and pterosaur bones from the Lower Cretaceous (Berriasian) of western Romania. These fossils were collected in the late 1970s and early 1980s from a Lower Cretaceous (Berriasian) conglomerate lens deep in a bauxite mine at Cornet, close to the city of Oradea, Romania, and they caused a sensation when first described. Some fossils w...

New Australian sauropods shed light on Cretaceous dinosaur palaeobiogeography

Australian dinosaurs have played a rare but controversial role in the debate surrounding the effect of Gondwanan break-up on Cretaceous dinosaur distribution. Major spatiotemporal gaps in the Gondwanan Cretaceous fossil record, coupled with taxon incompleteness, have hindered research on this effect, especially in Australia. Here we report on two new sauropod specimens from the early Late Creta...

Decapods from Jurassic (Oxfordian) sponge megafacies of Dobrogea, Romania and reconsideration of Nodoprosopon BEURLEN, 1928

Examination of Jurassic decapod crustaceans associated with microbialite-siliceous sponge biostromes in Gura Dobrogei, eastern Romania, has yielded a unique association of these organisms. Goniodromites aliquantulus new species appears to have inhabited layered sponge biostrome settings only, whereas Cycloprosopon dobrogea and Goniodromites spp. appear to have inhabited a variety of microbialit...
